Monique Borses is IDA’s Director. She grew up in Austin, Texas, where she began dancing at age two and trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and musical theatre. Monique went on to earn her BFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory and continued her training in New York City at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway.

Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2019, Monique has taught and directed competition teams throughout the region. In the classroom, she focuses on technical excellence, confidence, and versatility—all in an environment that’s supportive, joyful, and fun. She’s passionate about developing strong performers who are just as great offstage as they are on it.
