Ellen Keegan
Director
Ellen Keegan is the proud co-owner of Illuminate Dance Academy. With a background that blends education, performance, and leadership, she is committed to creating a positive and inspiring environment where every student can thrive. Ellen earned her Bachelor of Arts in American Multicultural Studies from Sonoma State University and holds a California teaching credential.
A former titleholder of Miss California USA 2004, Ellen has extensive stage and public performance experience that fuels her love of helping students build confidence through the performing arts. She believes that dance is about more than technique—it is an opportunity to develop resilience, teamwork, discipline, and self-expression.
Jenni Etimos is the co-owner of Illuminate Dance Academy. A lifelong performer, Jenni grew up participating in acting, singing, piano, dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Her passion for the performing arts and youth development eventually led her to create a space where dancers can thrive.
Jenni earned a BA in Communications from University of California, San Diego in 2007 and a teaching credential from Sonoma State University in 2011. She taught at both the middle school and high school levels before shifting her focus to performing arts. Her background in education continues to influence her approach to leadership, helping shape a studio culture that values excellence, safety, personal growth, and community.

Illuminate Dance Academy was founded in June 2025 by three moms—Jenni Etimos, Ellen Keegan, and Allison Villegas—whose daughters share a love of dance. Inspired by their children's passion, they created a technique-based studio where dancers can grow, build confidence, and feel supported in a positive and encouraging environment.
